Job not done, only just beginning...

Crystal Palace 5 v 0 Burnley
Championship - Selhurst Park. Att: 23,950
Sunday, 4th May 2008

Palace completed their league programme in style with their best win of the season and possibly their best performance. Although only playing against 10-men after winning an early penalty that resulted in a sending-off the performance was still impressive and 12-men couldn't have prevented Burnley slumping to defeat.

The ground was packed as Palace needed only a win to secure a play-off place and they got what they wanted with 2 goals in the first 10 minutes. Watson from the penalty spot followed by Moses put Palace in the driving seat and before half-time Tom Soares had made it three. In the second period Scott Sinclair and Clinton Morrison rounded off a fine victory.

But it was the performance that impressed most. Fluent and controlled football means that they head into the play-offs in good form and hungry to win. Neil Warnock has inspired confidence and he seems keen to deliver yet another promotion for his CV.

Results elsewhere mean they finish 5th and play Bristol City in the Semi-Finals.
