A sad end to a good game...

Croydon Athletic Reserves 2 v 1 Staines Town Reserves
Capital League Western Division - Keith Tuckey Stadium. Att: 40
Thursday, 17th April 2008

A good game but it ended almost in silence after about 89 minutes. A challenge on Ariosto Severin ended with both players landing in a heap, the referee's whistle blew for the foul and then the clearly heard exclaimation of the player was heard. It was obvious his injury was bad and it seems it was a dislocation to the ankle and possible break. The game was brought to an end slightly prematurely but the result, for what it is worth, stands.

The Rams Reserves had taken the lead from the penalty spot and then restored their lead before half time following an equaliser. It had been pretty much end to end stuff throughout the second half with Staines probably shading it but unable to score.
