After a slump in form the Rams have rekindled their chances of Youth League glory with a good win over local rivals Carshalton. Resplendent in their changes colours of yellow and blue the home side held out to move 2nd and just three points below favourites Leatherhead, and they still have to play them.
Croydon took the lead with a freak goal. A Carshalton defender pushed the ball back to their 'keeper but committed the cardinal sin of hitting the ball toward the goal; the 'keeper missed his kick and the ball rolled slowly into the back of the net just out of reach of the desparate visiting defenders. Croydon extended their lead shortly after but just before the break let the visitors back into the game. Despite hitting the bar Carshalton were unable to pull level and Croydon secured all the points.
