Croydon Athletic 2 v 1 Metropolitan Police
Ryman League Division One South - Keith Tuckey Stadium. Att: 163
Friday, 4th April 2008
A run of 8 games without defeat is giving the Rams an excellent close to the season and who is to say that cannot go on to complete the rest of the season without losing. Over the last few weeks Croydon have shown greater resilience and with renewed confidence now do not seem to know when they are beaten.
The Police went ahead in the first half but the second half was all Croydon and they deserved teh result on that part of play alone. Their first goal was a long shot from Greg Andrews and which the 'keeper couldn't keep out. The second and winning goal, also from sub Andrews, was a free-kick that evaded everyone and went into the far corner.
Croydon have now played the teams in 2nd, 3rd and 4th place and taken 7 points from those games. Is there room for further improvement? Yes, of course there is but the confidence now bodes well for next season and a push up the table.
