Well and truly off the rails...

Crystal Palace 0 v 2 Wolverhampton Wanderers
Championship - Selhurst Park Stadium. Att: 15,679
Saturday, 23rd February 2008

A disappointing performance, a disappointing result and the run of 15 games without defeat now seems like a distant memory. It is probably true that the performances and results during that run were beyond the ability of the team but moving up to 5th in the table left everyone believing that they could just make it up. What is clear, is that Warnock is going to make changes during the summer and that will add to the excitement of next season.

Warnock decided to continue with the team that got a creditable draw at high-flying Bristol City the previous Monday live on TV. Then the performance had been workmanlike and authoritative but that was all lost for this game.

The low point of Shefki Kuqi. Having returned from a period on loan at Premier League Fulham he has been back in the side. He is a 110% player and he fought manfully as he plowed a lonely furrow up front. He has never had the supporters on his side at Palace, possibly linked to the overinflated price-tag of over £2m that Palace paid for him and his failure to live up to that image. However, I was pleased that he had put in the effort and was sorry that when he was substituted he reacted badly to the boo-boys. He is unlikely to play for the club again and is now on the transfer list.
