Croydon Athletic 1 v 2 Dulwich Hamlet
Ryman League Division One South - Keith Tuckey Stadium. Att: 207
Friday, 15th February 2008
An experiment of a Friday night game was a provisional success with almost twice the average gate coming through the turnstyles. Naturally a game against Dulwich will always see extra supporters but avoiding clashes with other games does seem to have worked and makes it worth a repeat.
The game itself was a good one. Dulwich are a stronger and generally better side but Croydon performed well and took the lead through Jordan Kiffen with a fine strike early on. They held the lead for half an hour but the visitors strength and pace was too much and they scored a good opening goal. The extended the lead before the break and looked set for a good win but Croydon were having none of it and came back strongly and could have equalised on a number of occasions. They should also have had a penalty but it wasn't to be.
Another defeat but a better performance and play like this and the wins will come.
