Croydon Athletic 0 v 1 Eastbourne Town
Ryman League Division One South - Keith Tuckey Stadium. Att: 107
Saturday, 26th January 2008
It was all looking good for the first half of this game with Croydon knocking it around with aplomb and creating a number of good chances. Gareth Graham was running midfield and Moses Ademola, fresh from a trial with Charlton Athletic, was dangerous up front. But they could not turn this pressure into goals and at 0-0 at half-time you always felt that mustn't lose concentration.
The second half was different with a rejuvenated Eastbourne Town creating opportunities although the Rams 'keeper looked in good form. But it was becoming increasingly inevitable that it was not to be another scoreless game and Eastbourne popped up in the 87th minute to break the hearts of the Croydon faithful.
At Eastbourne Croydon won with a last minute goal so touche... but a run of hard games makes it difficult for Rams to see where the next point is coming from.
