It was the first nil-nil drawer of the season but it could have been so different. Croydon's first game of the new year saw them start briskly and lively and create several chances in the first 20 minutes. Savage and Ademola could have opened the scoring but the price of the misses was not as much as it could have been. As the game drifted on there seemed to be less and less opportunities for either side and the game drifted to a close with the points shared. It could not have been more unlike the reverse fixture where Croydon ran out 6-2 winners.
The Rams start the year in 13th place and on balance if that is where they could finish it would not be an unsuccessful season.
