Croydon Athletic 1 v 0 Erith Town (after extra time)
London Senior Cup 3rd Round - Keith Tuckey Stadium. Att: 40 (approx.)
Tuesday, 18th December 2007
Without a doubt not one of the classic games of the season. A cold but dry night saw the Rams begin their London Senior Cup campaign with a victory after extra time. Neither side looked capable of scoring for most of the game although it was the home side that had the majority of chances.
When the goal came it was through youngster Harrison Carnegie. Carnegie is starring for the youth team and moved up into the spotlight without fear or looking out of place. His 98th minute shot was half parried and half fumbled by the 'keeper and it scooped up over his head and into the net. Always hard on a team from a lower division to lose a game in this manner but Croydon move on to face Tooting and Mitcham United, a side that put them out of three competitions last year.
