A first win at home for Warnock...

Crystal Palace 2 v 1 Preston North End
Championship - Selhurst Park. Att: 13,048
Tuesday, 27th November 2007

Warnock got his first victory as Palace manager last Saturday at Colchester United but today secured his first home win and a good performance to boot.

Preston took the lead and as a team also struggling this season the prospect of losing to such a rival was palpable around the ground. Too many poor performances this season had not only had an effect on the crowd but also on confidence. But goals from Scowcroft and then another from Clint Hill (an on-loan signing from Stoke City) who looped a header over the 'keeper and into the net.

No more goals but what was pleasing was seeing Palace comfortably close down the game. It has been a long time since that could happen and certainly not under Taylor. New manager gives new hope... 5 games without defeat and 2 wins in a row.
