Tooting and Mitcham United 3 v 1 Whyteleafe
Ryman League Division One South - Imperial Fields. Att: 311
Friday, 23rd November 2007
Another of their Friday experiments gives an opportunity to get in another game. November has not been the best month for matches. Tooting looked strong and almost moved effortlessly into the lead with 3 goals in the first half to make the game safe. Former Palace hero, Dave Swindlehurst who is 'Leafe manager, looked as if he would be merely trying to keep the score down. But the second half was much better for the visitors who came back despite the gane already being lost and got their reward from a spectacular 30 yard strike. Tooting do have weaknesses that we will hope that Croydon will exploit when they play on boxing day.
I didn't make reference to it after the game with Walton Casuals but Tooting do seem to have a strange ritual for the pre-game warm up. A full Spiderman costumed player warmed up before that game and it didn't seem necessary to comment but before this game another player was dressed up as Robin Hood!
