Croydon Athletic 1 v 1 Tonbridge Angels
FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round - Keith Tuckey Stadium. Att: 177
Saturday, 15th September 2007
The Rams remain in the FA Cup after a spirited draw at home to the Ryman Premier Division side from Kent. Playing without several first choice players against a strong team it was always going to be difficult but they played well for most of the game and could have snatched a victory. Moses Ademola, who scored the Rams goal, could have had a couple more although neither were easy chances.
Tonbridge took the lead just after the interval but they held the lead for just a couple of minutes as the Rams hit back with a well taken goal finishing off a cross and giving their 'keeper no chance. It proved to be the end to the scoring but both teams had chances afterwards.
Reggie Savage, the top scorer, was brought on later in the 2nd half but as a result Moses was put out wide. He seems neither to enjoy playing there or play well in that position and he drifted out of the game.
The replay will be at Tonbridge's ground on Tuesday and Croydon will need to be at their best but... it is Cup football!
