Croydon Athletic 6 v 2 Chatham Town
Ryman League Division One South - Keith Tuckey Stadium. Att: 68
Saturday, 29th September 2007
The Rams got themselves back to winning ways after five games without a win and in doing so showed some good finishing. Reggie Savage scored a fine hat-trick with two first half goals to give the Rams a half-time 2-1 advantage. After they further extended the lead to 4-1 the visitors hit back and you could sense a feeling of nervousness sweep the stadium. But a clear penalty, converted by Savage for his 3rd, relieved any pressure and a sixth was added moments later to complete the rout. Chatham Town were probably not 4 goals worse but it was a deserved win nonetheless. Blackwell, Debrah and Waldron completed the scoring.
Bradley Duke was carried off and has a suspected broken ankle. He has performed well and will be missed if the injury is serious.
