Remaining unbeaton...

Corinthian Casuals 2 v 2 Croydon Athletic
Ryman League Division One South - King George's Fields. Att: 158
Monday, 27th August 2007

The Rams remain unbeaton after 4 league games and sit 4th in the table. A strike by Danny Warren direct from a freekick into the top corner of the net secured the point after twice being behind in the game. On balance, a draw was probably a fair result.

The Casuals defence looked solid against Croydon's lively attackers and the home side took the lead from a corner that was headed in almost unchallenged. Reggie Savage then scored his sixth goal in 4 games to bring Croydon level. They started to look more comfortable despite having lost 2 players to injury before the break. But Casuals were to regain the lead on the stroke of half-time through a penalty following a handball.

In the second half the game became a little bitty but gradually Croydon looked stronger and stronger and got their reward after a 25 yard free-kick went straight into the corner of the net to bring them level again. Croydon continued to press, as shown above but Casuals, in their pink and brown halves, held on for the draw.
