Crystal Palace 2 v 2 Leicester City
Championship - Selhurst Park. Att: 15,607
Saturday, 18th August 2007
A last minute goal by Clinton Morrison saved Palace's blushes and probably saved Taylor from a barrage of boos. It felt like a point saved when really it was 2 points lost after an early goal from Stuart Green was wiped out by two incidents of slack marking in the second half. When the team brings all 11 players back to defend a corner or freekick then you do not expect an attacker to have a free header in the penalty area.
After an away win at Southampton last Saturday there was higher expectation but the team did not live up to it. They seemed unbalanced with a couple of injuries to midfielders and with players out of position. They did not manage to hold the ball and conceded a lot of possession to Leicester although they didn't really capitalise. Must do better in the months ahead.
